Writing Resources

If you’re going to be a writer, the first essential is just to write. Do not wait for an idea. Start writing something and the ideas will come. You have to turn the faucet on before the water starts to flow.” ` Louis L’Amour

Ms. Bukowski’s  Writing Tips:

1.  Becoming a great writer doesn’t happen overnight you need to continuously practice.   Do you think that Michael Jordan became a great basketball player by sitting on his couch eating a bag of doritos?

2.  Don’t be afraid to ask for help with your writing.  We don’t become better writers unless we ask for feedback.

3.  Read! Read! Read!  The best writers read alot!  Find a topic you are interested in and find a book that satisfies your interest.

4.  Help someone else with his or her writing.  By explaining your knowledge about writing to somone else you deepen your understanding of how to write.  Teach somone else and you will become more confident in your own ability!

5.  Practice good writing techniques in all of your classes!  Remember good writers do not only practice exceptional writing in English class.  Instead they write well in all of their subjects.  Impress all of your teachers with your stellar writing!
