English Objective: Students will be able to gain a deeper appreciation and understanding for why Elie wrote his memoir, Night, by (reading/analyzing/discussing/responding) to both his “This I Believe” essay written for NPR and his new preface to Night in the most recently published translation of his memoir.

Technology Objective:  Students will be able to download Elie’s This I Believe speech audio from the NPR website and check most recently posted Term #2 grades on Edline.

Getting Focused: Please update notebooks according the information projected on the Smart Board.

Agenda:

1. Tape Night Background Information in interactive notebooks

2. Listen to Elie’s “This I believe speech” and annotate while listening and reading speech.
